Worship Preview

We're not even to Thanksgiving yet, but today I saw the crews out in North Branch putting the lights up around the lamp posts.  It seems a little early to me yet for Christmas, but in this week's reading from Isaiah we hear, "A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the Lord shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord."

We hear this as the promise of the Messiah, the Christ child whose birth we will so soon commemorate.  And while it might seem a bit early for Christmas, the whole point of the story is God coming to us in a place and at a time we don't expect.  So, come this week and hear the promise of the coming of our God, whether we are ready or not!

Can't wait to see you there!

Offering Counters Needed

Are you good with numbers?  Or maybe you just have some time to kill while someone you love socializes in the basement?  The council is looking for volunteers to count the offering after worship.  The commitment is one Sunday per month for 30-45 minutes after worship.  You will train with our dedicated counters who have done this task for years, so you will know exactly what you need to do.  If you have any interest in serving Fish Lake in this capacity, please contact the office.  Thanks!

____________

Praise Band!

Do you love to sing or play a musical instrument?  Are you ready to let your light shine as a worship leader of this congregation?  Fish Lake will be launching a Praise Band to play once a month on youth Sunday, and we would love to have you be a part!  Please contact Grant Applehans if you are interested. Rehearsal times will be based on group availability.  Come share who God has made you to be, and let’s sing a new song to the LORD!
