Front Step Project
It was decided on Sunday, July 1st, to move forward on a major front step renovation project. Here are a few pictures of the project underway with a letter and explanation of the project following.
Dear Members and Friends of FishLake Lutheran,
It has recently been brought to our attention that the front steps and sidewalk at Fish Lake are in need of repair and no longer meet the required building codes. This need was reinforced during a recent safety audit of our building and grounds by our insurance company.
On Sunday, July 1st, at a congregational meeting, two bids were discussed, as well as the option of holding off on the project until a later date. After some discussion and a vote, it was approved to move ahead with this project. A bid from JMB Concrete Construction in Harris, for the amount of $18,186.00, was chosen and approved. Enclosed is a copy of the handwritten bid from JMB that was presented. It involves, as noted on the bid, complete demolition of the current steps and sidewalk and replacement of steps, sidewalk, and side walls for the steps. The project is scheduled to begin on Thursday, July 5th. It should take an estimated two weeks to complete.
As a congregation, Fish Lake Lutheran has been blessed in many ways. We have always made it a priority to maintain, restore, and update the church building and grounds. It is now our priority to tend to the safety needs of our front steps and sidewalk to continue in that tradition. It was clear at our July 1st congregational meeting that the members of Fish Lake agree that this is an important need and must be done now rather than later.
We are asking you to prayerfully consider a financial gift towards this project.
From past experience, we know that there are many who have a very special place in their heart for Fish Lake Lutheran and want to see it continue to grow and be maintained. We are confident that this completed project will enhance the look of the church and will make another positive impression on all who drive by, visit, or worship with us for years to come.
Donations can be dropped off in the church office, placed in the offering plate, or mailed in. Checks should be made out to Fish Lake Lutheran Church with Front Step Project written on the memo line. These gifts can be given as designated memorials as well. For our members, all gifts will be recorded and reflected in your giving statements. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
