Fish Lake Chi Rho
Wednesday nights, 9-12 graders are invited to join us from 7:30-9:00pm for the sole purpose of growing closer to God and to other Christians.
We do this first of all by discussing a topic that is relevant to teens. We ask questions about how these topics apply to our lives in a useful and meaningful way. The Bible has a lot to say to us still, even though it's the 21st century. We try to determine the ways that God's Word can direct our lives at home, school, work, or with our friends.
Chi Rho is a safe group and place for you to explore issues of faith & religion. There are no 'dumb questions' when it comes to faith and our relationship with God. We are all on a journey and are all at different places along that journey. So these Wednesday nights at Chi Rho can be a 'rest stop' along the journey where you can come and hear and receive the Word of God through Christ-centered discussion and active learning opportunities (games, activities, etc.)
Also Chi Rho will include some time for informal worship. This worship varies from week to week, but always involves prayer either in small groups, pairs, or large group, singing familiar camp songs and worship songs, listening to CDs, and just sitting and resting in the arms of God.
Prayer is an important part of this time of worship and provides students with the opportunity to come before God in a safe setting to lift up personal prayer concerns for themselves or others close to them. Candles are sometimes lit in honor or in memory of a significant person in their lives. Candles are also lit to symbolize the light of Christ among us as we worship.
This time of prayer and praise is your time with God and can really make a difference in your life as you grow in faith and in your relationship with God.
Relationships are so important to all of us, especially to teens. So Chi Rho is also an opportunity for you to build and strengthen new, positive relationships with other Christian teens. And while doing that you will be strengthening your relationship with God, your loving Father and Creator.
