God is doing amazing work in and among the youth and families of Fish Lake Lutheran Church.
It's not uncommon to see bunches of kids in worship, at the children's sermon, running around during coffee hour, and playing football outside after church. The youth at Fish Lake are highly valued and appreciated. They're included in worship leadership roles regularly and are encouraged to share their gifts of music or drama when needed.
We are in a transition period at Fish Lake in this area of youth ministry. Preschool, elementary, and middle school aged youth are very active and growing. This will grow into an active and exciting high school ministry in a matter of only a few short years. Something we're all looking forward to.
As you look through the links under Youth & Family Ministries on our website you will see a variety of ways for our youth and their families to be involved. We have a rotation based Sunday School for preschool through 5th grade. A Sunday School class called, Leap of Faith, for our 6th - 8th graders. A summer ministry opportunity called Summer Stretch for 6th - 12th graders, and a high school leadership team called Teens In Ministry (T.I.M. Team).
Our confirmation program is designed as a three year program for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Vacation Bible School reaches the needs of many young children and their families in the summer. And a recently created program called F5@5 reaches across generational lines and includes all ages once a month on a Sunday night to celebrate Friends, Family, Food, Fun, and Faith. We've also offered both Youth Mission Trips and Family Intergenerational Mission Trips to three different Native American Reservations in South Dakota and Wyoming, and to Bayou La Batre, Alabama for hurricane relief and clean up efforts.
We feel that God is doing great things in our youth and their families at Fish Lake and we'd love for you to G.R.O.W. along with us as we discover what that is.
